Ian Elgy is the Capability Lead for Blast and IED Protection at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory. In this role he leads a small team who work in IED protection. Ian was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours list 2015 for his life-saving work on vehicle crew protection. Previous roles at Dstl have seen him work on ceramic armour and land-mine protection.
